BJB’s SMD Minis: Terminal Blocks That Provide Big Lighting Solutions

They may appear 'mini'...but the BJB SMD-Mini Terminal blocks provide massive solutions within the lighting industry. Specifically, the Mini Flex 46.131/132, which are extremely flat and keep any shadow formation to a minimum (with a height of only 4mm).

SMD Minis are ADS-compatible and can be wired robotically, for efficient assembly. Our Mini-Flex SMD terminal block is designed to take both solid and stranded wires and has a easy release function. As noted, it is also suitable for automtic assembly with BJB robots. With a diverse range of applications, the SMD Mini-Flex is used by LED PCB manufacturers in the lighting industry, home appliance manufacturer and consumer electronic sectors.

The BJB Lighting Solutions for the Public Sector

Smart city solutions continue to be at the forefront of conversation of urban development. With the new connection socket system for outdoor luminaires, BJB delivers a technological and economical solution that helps municipalities launch 'Smart City' technology on any outdoor luminaire quickly and easily.

The BJB interface has been developed especially for LED light sources and drivers in outdoor light fixtures. The basis for this creation is an IP-compliant receptacle with a sealing cap.

The unit provides a complete electrical interface between the receptacle and the respective sensor modules. When used in conjunction with sensor-compatible certified drivers (e.g.Philips), the receptacle assembly is suitable for a plug-in sensor module with a twist-lock system.

For communication and data transmission, the module is provided with DC power and DALI 2 or a 2-wire bus. The fourth connection is reserved as a digital IO port.

The compact design with an improved seal facilitates the installation of the sensor module on roadway, street and surface area lights upwards, sideways or downwards.

Smart LED Street and Exterior Lights: How BJB is Impacting the Lighting Revolution

Cars are not the only thing getting smarter around the world. While self-driving cars are getting all the attention, what about the roads themselves becoming smarter? But wait, there's much more than just road! What about modern LED lights the now provide numerous options for smart applications by illuminating not just the roads we drive on, but also the cul de sacs we live in, the parks we play in, and footpaths that we walk on.

Did you know that the brightness of outdoor fixtures can be specifically adapted to the natural lighting conditions of the current traffic volume, which noticeably reduces energy consumption. Likewise, parking space detection can be incorporated into smart lighting systems too. Smart lighting systems provide detailed energy consumption analysis so systems may operate as efficiently as possible, and alert those responsible for any failures. Technical Requirements for Smart Lighting

Smart lighting is based on intelligent sensors or communication modules and data analysis. In order for the interaction between sensor or communication module and luminaire to work, you need the proper connection technology that connects the luminaire and sensor or communication module:

The BJB Connecting Socket: Zhaga Receptacle

With the electromechanical interface of the 47.121 series according to Zhaga Book 18, BJB offers a practical solution for the connection between LED outdoor light and sensor or communication module. This standardized interface is compatible with numerous sensors and communication modules from different manufacturers.

The BJB receptacles are equally suitable for wall and panel lights. They can be used to place sensors on the top (1), bottom (2) or side (3) of the lamp, depending on the desired function of the sensor.
